Space for Family
It is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to contribute to creating a healthy balance between the fulfillment of parental love and self-realization of parents and thus encourage a change the perception of family care in the Czech society. Space for family was founded in 2008 in the village of Černý důl in the Giant Mountains with a mission to support families with children and the reconciliation of work and family life. It currently operates mainly in the city of Prague. It is occupied mainly with counseling, parental education and professional training of caregivers for early-age and preschool children. It helps to establish child-care services and facilities. It also collaborates with employers in the field of education and the use of child care services as a tool for improving pro-family policy.
Project with international partnership:
The family as a support for the careers of women in the Czech Republic and Iceland
The aim of the project was to complete a research project: „Family background of women in decision-making positions“ of view of the organization of families of women, building up his career in Iceland.
The project took place a three days study trip, where there was video-interviews with women in decision-making positions in Iceland and in collaboration with partner, we identified the needs of women with small children in the context of the work/life balance. During our stay in Reykjavík we realised 4 video interviews with a Member of the Icelandic Parliament, ilustrator- single mother, member of the management Íslandbanki a mother with on parental leave. We also visit the Kindergarten. We presented research outputs and both projects during the konference of 8 march in Prague. We share our new experiances from the icelandic study trip by the video-interwiews, and the reports and photos on our website.
